Pine

Pine is a softwood, which has been widely planted across Australia and New Zealand. It is a fairly soft material with a fine but uneven texture. Its appearance can vary from white through to a pale yellow and in colour and is often distinguishable by its large growth rings.

In terms of staircases, Pine can be used for all components (including stringers, treads, risers, balustrading, posts, capping and handrails). It is also an excellent choice if you are planning on painting your staircase.
