American Oak
American Oak is a species of hardwood that is imported into Australia from the eastern parts of the United States of America. Its appearance can vary from a light brown through to a dark brown in colour, and the timber is typically straight grained with a medium to course texture.
In terms of staircases, American Oak can be used for all components (including balustrading, capping, handrails, posts, treads, risers and stringers). Due to its rich colour, the timber is also suitable for staining.
